Satisfy your sweet tooth guilt-free!!

I’ve always been one of those people that needs something sweet after dinner. It doesn’t need to be fancy, just something to satisfy my sweet tooth and stop it from nagging me. But sticking to just a small, sweet snack can be tricky. Here are a couple less guilty ways to indulge any sweet tooth!

Frozen Chocolate Banana

This is the perfect frozen sweet treat with some extra nutritional punch! Peel a banana, cut into two equal halves or into slices, and freeze. Once solid, take out and roll in melted dark chocolate. If you’re feeling spicy, roll in whichever crunchy topping you like while chocolate is still melting—sprinkles, nuts, and granola all work well. Return to the freezer until the chocolate is set (at least an hour). Yum!!

Yogurt Parfait

Top 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla) with your choice of toppings: crumbled graham crackers or granola, nuts, and fruit are all healthy choices. Sprinkle some shaved chocolate on top for an extra kick!

Oatmeal Energy Balls

Instead of grabbing a candy bar, grab an oatmeal ball lol. Just combine oatmeal, oat flour, mashed banana, dried fruit, and honey, bake at 350 for 10 minutes, and enjoy.

Pudding Cup

I love having one of these if I’m having a crazy chocolate craving! Not only are they convenient, but they have all sorts of flavors and low in calorie.

Pack one of these for work and don’t be tempted by unhealthy options in the office.

Animal Crackers

A small handful of animal crackers is not just an ideal snack for kindergarteners. A good-sized handful (about 16 crackers) has just about 120 calories and only 7g of sugar.

Fresh Fruit

Very Simple, any piece of fresh fruit should offer enough natural sugar to fill those cravings. Plus, it’s the healthiest choice and you get added nutrients and fiber!

Chocolate Milk

Try chocolate almond or soy milk for even less calories. I drink mine with crushed ice! Not only is chocolate milk a great way to fit a hint of sweetness into your day, but also research shows it’s a good post-work out protein filled recovery drink!

Smoothie

It’s easy to find an easy, healthy smoothie recipe for breakfast, a snack, dessert, or even a meal replacement. Google up one with your favorite ingredients!

Hot Chocolate

Skim (or soy) milk can make a healthful base to this slightly sweet drink—just don’t overdo it on the chocolate syrup. You can always opt for no sugar added hot cocoa..some brands are as low as 20 calories per packet! Add some mini marshmallows for an added treat!

PB&J

Half of a classic sandwich on whole wheat bread (or ezekiel) provides an enough sweetness and a little of protein power for a boost.

Frozen Grapes

One of my favs! Put a handful of grapes in a zip lock bag and then freeze. After a couple hours, pop one in your mouth, just like candy..well almost :) Not only is it just a perfect sweetness but it is also packed with antioxidants and other nutrients!

All-Fruit Popsicle

There’s no added sugar in these sweet and cool treats. Just puree watermelon chunks and some lime juice, freeze, and enjoy! Feel free to also try any other juicy fruit: Peaches, berries, or pears with just a touch of apple juice for base will all make great pops especially to cool off during the hot months!

Eating healthy should be a lifestyle. Therefore, you must have substitutions for your cravings. You don’t have to totally give up sweets, you just have to modify!
